The modification artist

Poul Schöbel, born in Vejle, raised in Brande with out-of-town yearnings. Lives in Husby. The room's walls, floor and ceiling are of an expressive, abstract nature, where surfaces, shapes and autonomous brushstrokes provide a continuous dynamic dialogue with the guest.

Poul challenges form, surfaces and materials, they are examined and processed in the effort to find a crack in a proven traditional medium and create transcendence. Reminiscences of recognizable shapes, photos, glass and traces of events intrude in the expressive abstract and three-dimensional space. None of the elements dominate alone or have special status, but are all put into play for the community - for each other.

Modifications are art that is painted over by artists other than the originator, thus making them his own works. Poul Schöbels room offers glass, colors and endless modifications.
