History

Hotel Dalgas is located in the middle of the Jutland heath in the station town Brande.

The hotel is today owned by Axel Månsson, known as one of the country's largest producers of organic vegetables, lettuce and eggs. Reception, restaurant and a lot of rooms have already been renovated and modernized. The hotel will continue to undergo further renovations on an ongoing basis.

The cozy restaurant serves modern and inspiring food, which is both a delight to the eye and the palate. Emphasis is placed on ecology, quality, Danish and local ingredients. The menu changes with the season, as we strive to provide the best possible taste experience and composition, where the quality of the ingredients is top notch and with the least possible food waste.

The atmosphere in the house is characterized by our goal of creating a hotel where it is nice to be, whether you are a businessman, fitter, tourist or just passing through. Our guests must feel comfortable in a warm and friendly environment and be welcomed by a smiling, professional and helpful staff.

There are plenty of opportunities for activities such as hiking, cycling, golf, etc. The area also offers art, culture and tourist attractions on a large scale.

The hotel's name 'Dalgas' is well chosen, with reference to the officer and road engineer Enrico Dalgas, who spearheaded the pagan planting in the latter half of the 1800th century.

The hotel's restaurant has also been named in connection with history. It is called Restaurant Urfuglen, named after Brandes landmark since 1942, namely the Urfugle, which adorns both the municipal coat of arms and well covers in the city.

In 1968 was Brande, despite its then only approx. 5.000 inhabitants, world-renowned in Denmark. It happened in connection with inviting a number of Danish artists to add color to the city's gables.

Many of the gable paintings still exist - and new ones are still being added - and please the eye when you walk the streets. In addition to the existing paintings form Brande also the setting for the annual international Street Art Festival, where international street artists compete to paint the city's squares and pavements with completely unique works of art, which can be enjoyed until winter arrives.

There are several fine hiking and biking trails in the area. Among other things. Den Skæve Bane, which today is a well-known nature trail for walking, cycling and riding and Harrild Hede with routes that go through the beautiful heath landscape and river valley. Major attractions such as Legoland, Givskud Zoo and the historic Søby Brunkulslejer are also within a very short distance.

We look forward to welcoming you.
