ART Hotel Dalgas – overnight in a work of art!

The guest is invited to spend the night in the work, in the painting.

ART Hotel Dalgas opened on 4/11 2023 and thus reveals a completely new accommodation option in Denmark.

All rooms at ART Hotel Dalgas are fully decorated, from ceiling to floor, with different themes. With a QR code on the wall of the room, the guest is taken into the artist's universe, in a cinematic insight, a short story about the artist himself, and the description of the work.

The art city Brande

With the opening of ART Hotel Dalgas manifests Brande itself as a real art city, known since the 60s for the unique gable paintings, where new ones are added every year, and for the International Street Art festival, which attracts 100.000 art-interested guests to the central Jutland market town every summer.

ART Hotel Dalgas is located in one of the most historic buildings in Brande, the former 'Technical School', where owner Axel Månsson has carried out a renovation which has been carried out in respect of the old crafts, and which invites to a completely unique experience for overnight guests of the future.

At ART Hotel Dalgas, 9 professional artists have created unique decorations for the 9 modern hotel rooms, and set their unique mark by letting the entire room be the framework for the work - without restrictions. Even the floors are included as part of the works, as the artists' designs have been transferred to prints, made by Ege Täpper, Herning.

The originator

The decoration of the art rooms was done according to the idea of Rune Lyager, formerly Urban Street Zone, Denmark's largest skate park in Brande, now member of the Children, Culture and Leisure Committee, Ikast-Brande Commune.

The works reflect both today's development and function as a memoir and a story about each individual artist, all of whom have a relationship with the art city Brande. Everything gathers in one place, maybe forever?
