Jon Gislason

The ferocity of the color expressionist

Jon Gislason is a color expressionist with training from the Jutland Art Academy in Aahus. In Jon's room, the wildness of the colors can be experienced, he creates his wild works with pure, mixed colors. He has long since thrown away the learned laws and rules. He uses the colors contrary to all good custom and usage - and creates one astonishing masterpiece after another. He has, so to speak, forced the world onto his palette.

When he has painted his picture, he has said what he wants - without using words. The often simplified figurations emphasize the purely picturesque and joyous nature of the image.

Jon's art is related to the wild painting of the 1980-90s, with inspiration from the German neo-expressionist painters, he threw himself into the strongly expressive painting. However, he is different from them, as his pictures contain a general human message to a greater extent.

Take a look inside – and experience the wildness of the color universe in Jon's room.
